PRESIDENT’S REPORT FOR JULY, 2015
ROBESON COUNTY HISTORY MUSEUM
July 3rd and July 8th directed clean out of museum basement.
July 14th presided at museum “Deeding of Gift” reception and first annual Board of Directors meeting. Many thanks to Ruth Ann McLellan, Hospitality, for planning the beautiful reception.
July 21st toured Museum of Coastal Carolina and talked with curators regarding their speaker series.
July 28th and July 30th served as museum docent.
July 28th met with Dick Taylor of Taylor Insurance regarding our building insurance.
Met with Greg Price, Treasurer, regarding financial matters. Many thanks to Greg for always making time to meet with me.
Talked with Melissa Hardy and Faye Middleton regarding our antique bicycle exhibit which will debut in September. Thanks to both of these ladies for researching pictures of antique bicycles to use in designing posters for the exhibit.
Ordered two restroom plaques to be placed on the bathroom doors on the main floor.
With the help of Marion Thompson, Membership Chair, we updated membership list and our eight complimentary memberships for those between the ages of 25 and 50. Those eight persons must participate in a project this year. Thanks Marion for your continued help in keeping our records straight.
Went over minutes of July 14th board meeting with Wanda Aguirre. Thanks Wanda for being our wonderful secretary.
Collected and took pictures of historic Robeson County to Jayme Baxley of The Robesonian for publication in a series.
Many thanks to Jim Kirkland for taking the great pictures at our “Deeding of the Gift” ceremony.
