PRESIDENT’S REPORT FOR MAY, 2015
ROBESON COUNTY HISTORY MUSEUM
Presided at May 05, 2015 Executive Committee meeting.
Presided at May 12, 2015 Board of Directors meeting.
Met with N.C. Department of Transportation officials to sign final papers for Encroachment Agreement so that our awnings project can move forward at the museum.
Wrote an article on the museum for next month’s issue of Lumberton Magazine.
Set deadline with Gillespie family for the removal of negatives and bridal portraits from the basement of the museum.This was at Donald Gillespie’s suggestion.
Faye Middleton and I are still assembling easels---a work in progress.One was damaged and the replacement parts have been ordered.
Placed an ad in the Lumbee Homecoming Booklet to try to reach the Native American community.Many thanks to Melissa Hardy for helping me to get this done.
Finally updated changes in the Museum Bylaws that were done in committee last fall.A few further changes need to be made.
Talked with Eric West who will be our attorney in the transfer of museum ownership to the Museum Board of Directors.Eric’s work will be Pro Bono.Thanks so much Eric!
Attended the Robeson County Arts Council workshop on writing grassroots grants from the North Carolina Arts Council.
Colleen Brown and I worked on securing sites for the 2015 Christmas Home Tour.We only need one more home.
Wrote to Ian Fetterolf regarding a plan for the new Business/Education Room. More on that later.
