PRESIDENT’S REPEORT FOR FEBRUARY, 2015
ROBESON COUNTY HISTORY MUSEUM
Presided at museum Executive Committee meeting on 2/03/14.
Attended UNC-P Civil War exhibit and program along with Ruth Ann McLellan and Anne Monroe.
Worked with Colleen Brown, Faye Middleton, and Marion Thompson sorting and organizing items cleaned out of the back room.
Got quotes on museum note cards from Quick Print and Post Net.
Got quotes on display easels from Office Depot and on line web sites.
Arranged with Shep Oliver and Lou Henderson to fill two vacancies on the Museum Executive Committee. We now have 4 men and 7 women.
Cleaned out museum office file cabinet and desk.
Arranged for Joey Gold to fill a vacancy on the Museum Board of Directors.
Met with Lumberton High School students who took pictures of artifacts to do research for our museum.
Submitted required form to the Robeson County Arts Council for the museum to be included in their brochure.
Faye Middleton and I hung 20 Black History Month pictures which were arranged by Colleen Brown. They are a part of our Civil War/Civil Rights exhibit which will be on display until the end of March.
Called area museums to see if they carried Directors and Officers insurance plus liability insurance. (More at our next meeting)
Received on loan two Civil War paintings and six Civil War books from Evelyn Price.
Worked with Wanda Aguirre and Nell Lyon organizing the Military Room.
Faye Middleton and I organized and rearranged the large rear room known as the Agriculture and Natural Resources Room.
Hung seven Civil Rights posters to correlate with our Civil War/Civil rights exhibit.
Received notice that we have been awarded the $500 grant from the Lumberton Visitors Bureau in order to print new museum brochures!
